Sex and the CityPeople all around the world enjoyed the series Sex and the City, and for many different reasons. The four main characters are diverse both morally and sexually. Its popularity is due to the humor, wit, and of course the sex, in the busy city of New York. Sex and the City is a relationship-based series involving four women and their friends, as well as their good and bad romantic relationships. Almost anyone can find someone to relate to, whether it’s the promiscuous Samantha Jones, the sometimes-awkward Miranda Hobbes, or the conservative Charlotte York. Sarah Jessica Parker, who plays the role of Carrie Bradshaw, wrote many of the shows that explore the many opinions and aspects of sex and relationships. Samantha, who ironically has a career in public relations, puts most of the "sex" in Sex and the City. She has had one-night stands, experimented with a lesbian relationship, dated older men, dated younger men, and even had her heart broken a couple of times. Carrie is the successful writer and loyal friend who just can't seem to find the right guy. She's had her share of experience with off-and-on serious relationships with a couple of great men, and tends to not go for the one-night stands and casual relationships. Miranda is the serious, yet witty lawyer who is a bit hesitant to get into relationships, but is always there to console and protect her best friends. Although she doesn't believe in Mr. Right, she does believe in true love, and manages to eventually adapt to motherhood naturally. Charlotte is a typical WASP, who has dreamed of getting married and having children since she was a little girl. After a heartbreaking failed marriage and dealing with infertility, she manages to find the perfect man for her. The outspoken sexual nature of Sex and the City made it one of the most popular series ever aired, always with fresh topics and diverse opinions. Putting real problems that women face, such as breast cancer and infertility, into the spotlight, has made it a real show that people can relate to. |
