When you think about sex education, you probably picture pimply-faced teenagers sitting in a classroom squirming in their seats, listening to a teacher drone on about safe sex, preventing pregnancy, and STDs. Guess what? We are not going to talk about that kind of sex education. We are all grown-ups here, so let’s talk about some real sex education - like what men and women want and different sexual positions.

What do women want? Ladies want foreplay! How’s that for a lesson in sex education? More than anything else, women complain about how they are not quite ready to make love but their guy is raring to go. Guys, if you want to keep your partner happy, go the few extra minutes so she can be the best she can be for you. It’s that simple!

What do men want? Well, that’s usually simple enough. Guys want a warm body! Ok, so that is a bit too simplistic for a sex education lesson. Men are visual creatures. They see a little skin and start salivating. That is why sexy lingerie is such a big turn-on for them. After a few years living with the same woman who starts wearing your jerseys and knee socks to bed, wouldn’t you like a change of pace too?

What do both men and women want? They want to know what the other person is thinking. This final sex education mini-lesson concerns communication. If you have trouble putting what you want into words, grab your partner’s hand and guide them where you want them to go. Some people learn by doing and some learn by example. Figure out how they learn and go from there. If you want to experiment but feel a bit too inhibited initially to talk about it, leave the Kama Sutra by your bedside table. Prominently bookmark a certain website on their computer that has something you want to try.

Men and women get stuck in routines and get too comfortable, but don’t know how to change things. Someone in the relationship is going to have to make that first move out of the comfort zone. Sex education for adults can be tough, but with a little effort, your sex life can go from ho-hum to hubba-hubba in a heartbeat.
